In 1990, Dr. Thetford completed her doctorate degree at the Florida Institute of Technology following her internship at Arkansas Children's Hospital. She has been a member of the Florida Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association since 1991 and has served on the Board of Directors of numerous non-profit organizations. She has served as a consultant for Tourette's Syndrome and has conducted training seminars nationwide on various disorders including ADHD, Tourette's Syndrome and Sensory Processing Disorder.
KAREN A. RIFKIN, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health therapist with twenty-four years experience. She holds a Bachelors degree in Exceptional Student Education from William Paterson College of New Jersey and a Masters degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida.
Ms. Rifkin specializes in substance abuse therapy, having been a drug therapist in Orange County High Schools for ten years prior to joining New Objectives Psychology, Counseling and Neurofeedback Center, Inc. in 1999. She currently sees both adults and teenagers with substance abuse issues. She also has an extensive background in Domestic Violence, having run Batterer Intervention Program groups for nine years.
